Agreement

By downloading or using Patriot you agree to these terms and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which governs your license to the app. If these terms conflict with Apple's agreement, Apple's agreement controls for the license itself.

The app

Patriot shows quotes, founding-document passages, history, civics questions and other American heritage content in the app and in Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. An active subscription is required for full access, with no Patriot account required. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Subscriptions, payments and cancellation

At launch, Patriot offers weekly and annual auto-renewable subscriptions. The United States prices are $4.99 per week and $39.99 per year. Both include the full app and widgets. The full billed price and period are displayed before purchase, and the App Store purchase sheet confirms the price that applies to you. No trial or lifetime plan is included.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of that period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. Canceling stops future renewals; access continues through the paid period. Deleting the app or deleting your app data does not cancel your subscription.

You can restore an active subscription using Restore Purchases on the subscription screen or in Profile. Refund requests are handled by Apple, subject to its policies and any non-waivable consumer rights. Apple's standard EULA applies.

Content and sources

Quoted texts come from public-domain primary sources: the founding documents, official remarks of presidents while in office and other works of the U.S. Government, works published before 1930, official Medal of Honor citations and NASA mission records. Each quote is attributed and links to the source it was checked against. The selection, short context lines, design, widgets and the Scout mascot are our work and may not be copied or redistributed as a collection without permission.

The app presents historical words for education and inspiration. It is nonpartisan: it does not endorse any candidate, party or current political position, and it excludes campaign and rally speeches.

Accuracy

We compare every quote with its source before publishing it, but historical documents exist in several editions and mistakes are possible. If you find an error, open the quote and tap Report. Content is provided for general information and is not legal, historical or professional advice.

No affiliation or endorsement

Patriot is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the U.S. Government, any government agency, any military branch or any person quoted, and no quote implies that anyone endorses the app. Scout, our mascot, is a cartoon eagle; the flag itself is never drawn as a character.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the app or our servers, for example by interfering with their operation, sending automated or abusive reports, or attempting to access data that is not yours.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

Privacy

Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
